Empowering Through Knowledge: knls’ Digital Literacy Initiative

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, possessing adequate digital literacy skills has become more crucial than ever before. At knls we’ve been deeply committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the digital age.

Over the past year, our dedicated team has been diligently conducting training sessions aimed at enhancing digital literacy among our community members. Through interactive workshops and hands-on exercises, participants have gained practical insights into various digital tools and platforms, equipping them with the confidence to navigate the digital landscape with ease. At knls, our efforts extend beyond just imparting technical skills; we’re also passionate about fostering a culture of digital inclusivity and empowerment. By providing affordable training opportunities, we’re breaking down barriers and ensuring that everyone has the chance to harness the transformative power of technology.

One of the highlights of our recent initiatives was our partnership with Ajira Digital, an initiative by the Kenyan Government aimed at promoting online work and digital skills training. Together, we conducted a specialized training program focused on graphic design, providing participants specialized skills that are in high demand in today’s digital job market. The collaboration was a testament to our shared commitment to driving positive change and creating opportunities for our community members.

We’re proud to announce that within just 1 year our digital literacy initiative has reached over 1000 participants, impacting lives and empowering individuals with essential digital skills. But the impact of our training initiatives goes beyond just acquiring new skills; it’s about empowering individuals to realize their full potential and seize opportunities in the digital economy. This empowerment extends to fostering a sense of belonging and connection among our participants, creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

Here’s what some of our participants had to say:

They taught us Excel, PowerPoint and also Word and it greatly had an impact in my life in that today I do works around here for people and I get paid for it.” – Pastor Michael Ogumbe.

“I have really benefitted through the program, one of the trainings that we have had is Graphic design. I have benefitted a lot and I am glad for the team, the whole team.” Michael Kiarie.

” I want to thank knls in combination with Ajira for giving us this platform, to learn, to gain skills on Graphic Design.” – Evans Ndagwe.

As we look ahead to the future, our commitment to advancing digital literacy remains unwavering. We’re constantly exploring new ways to expand our training programs, forge partnerships, and make a positive impact in the lives of our participants.

At knls, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to thrive in the digital age. Join us on this journey of empowerment, and let’s build a brighter, more inclusive future together. Remember, our digital literacy trainings are conducted once every three months, so stay tuned to our social media sites for updates on the next intake.
