Study & Discussion Rooms

The Kenya National Library Service provides inclusive study spaces across its facilities, including Upper Hill, Buruburu and Nakuru. Users can access quiet reading areas for individual study and bookable discussion rooms for group learning, meetings and collaboration.

Reading rooms

Reading rooms are organised to support different age groups and information needs, with spaces for children, juniors, teenagers and adults. They provide a conducive environment to:

  • Request and retrieve collection items
  • Consult knowledgeable staff
  • Explore electronic resources, including journals, ebooks, indexes and databases
  • Use available computers and internet services
  • Navigate the reference collection

Discussion rooms

Discussion rooms support team collaboration and group study. Users can pre-book these spaces through the Information Desk at participating KNLS facilities.
